News 2007
Clearheart and I have had a great couple of months off. We have continued to work hard
and are looking forward to the upcoming show season.
Our
first outing of the season was to the Ian Stark eventing clinic at Galway downs in Jan. were Clearheart was fantastic on the
training and preliminary courses.
We also have gotten some "girl friends" lined up for Clearheart's
2007 breeding season. We all can hardly wait to see his first foals!
Our 2007 Event schedule wil
begin at Galway downs on March 30-April 1.
Galway Downs CIC3*-World
Cup Qualifying and International Horse Trials was a very challenging event! Clearheart was great in all three phases. We
scored well in dressage recieving a score of 32 penality points (68%). There were many great dressage horses in our group-the
scores were very tight- 32 only put us in 7th place out of 17 horses. Show Jumping was picture perfect until his
rider got in a hurry on the very last fence and caused 1 rail to fall! This dropped us to 8th place. Cross-Country was wonderful
with no problems, but unfortunately did not help us move up in the ribbons. It was a fun event and I am very happy with how
Clearheart performed. Everyone had a great time watching the CIC3* riders as well!
Breeding
Update!
Clearheart has his first foal on the way! The mare settled no problem with the first collection.
We can't wait to see the baby!
Coconino Horse Trials- Flagstaff, AZ
May 19-21, 2007
Flagstaff was a huge success! Clearheart was amazing in all phases. We scored
27 penalty points (73%) on our dressage test which put us in first place. We went on to finish on our dressage score and
had the lowest score of the entire training level as well as the lowest final score of the entire event! The next closest
score to us was 13 points higher!
Many people were overheard talking about Clearheart and what
a good cross he might make for their thoroughbred mare. One person stated that he was a "Rockin' Pony"!
Congratulations
Clearheart and Jen on their first eventing win!
Copper Meadows Horse
trial went well, we finished on our dressage score of 34 penatly ponits, unfortunately that was only put us in 7th place.
We
had a great time at the Coconino Horse Trials in Flagstaff, AZ in July. The weather was absolutely beautiful (of course
anything is great compared to Phoenix in July). We finished 3rd overall with one rail in stadium and the best cross country
round we have ever had. Every fence was right on!
We will be taking
a short break from the event circuit until the Area X training level championships in Sonoita, AZ in October. The next stop
after that will be the Las Cruces, NM horse trial where we plan to move up to preliminary level!
Clearheart
was his wonderful self at the area X training level championships! We came out Reserve Champion for the year. Our dressage
was not quite as nice as usual, however we made up for it in stadium and cross-country where Clearheart was obedient and brave
as he always is!
Do to family obligations and rider surgery we were not able to make it to as
many events as we would have liked this year. I did not feel that Clearheart (or I) was in quite good enough condition to
be ready to tackle preliminary level at Las Cruces this year. No sense chancing getting injured, so we are going to continue
to work hard over the winter and plan to move up early next year.
Thank
you to everyone for all the support over the last year. Can't wait to see what next year holds! Happy Holidays to all!
